What to Expect
This 60-minute high-intensity breathwork experience is designed to flood your system with oxygen, activate your sympathetic nervous system, and unlock the vital energy that stress, screens, and sedentary living often suppress. This is not gentle—this is powerful, dynamic, full-body breathing that will wake up every cell.
We’ll use active breathing techniques including conscious connected breathwork (CCB), breath of fire, and lion’s breath to create an altered state that can feel similar to intense physical exercise, coffee, or—according to some participants—psychedelics. The difference? You’re generating this state entirely through your own breath and willpower.
Physical sensations you may experience include: intense tingling (especially in hands and feet), temperature fluctuations, muscle tension or cramping (tetany—totally safe and temporary), lightheadedness, waves of energy moving through your body, emotional releases, spontaneous movement or sounds, and profound clarity or euphoria.
Emotionally and mentally, expect the unexpected. This practice can surface suppressed emotions, create breakthrough insights, dissolve mental fog, and generate states of joy or empowerment. Some people laugh, some cry, some shout. All of it is welcome.
This is intense work done in a safe container. You’ll be guided throughout, and you control the intensity by your breath.

This Session May Not Be Suitable If You:
Contraindications:
- Are pregnant or trying to become pregnant
- Have cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, or history of stroke
- Have been diagnosed with epilepsy or seizure disorders
- Have severe asthma or other serious respiratory conditions
- Have a history of aneurysms or brain injuries
- Have detached retina or glaucoma
- Have severe mental health conditions including active psychosis, severe bipolar disorder (especially if unmedicated), or recent psychiatric hospitalization
- Are in early recovery from trauma (within 6 months of traumatic event without therapeutic support)
- Have recent surgery or significant physical injuries
Use caution and consult with me first if:
- You have moderate anxiety or panic disorder (this can be therapeutic but needs to be approached carefully)
- You’re on psychiatric medications (SSRIs, benzodiazepines, etc.)
- You have a history of dissociation
- You’re managing PTSD (can be incredibly healing, but requires specific modifications)
- You have diagnosed heart arrhythmias
This is powerful medicine. Please be honest about your health history so we can keep you safe.
How to Prepare
What to Bring:
- Yoga mat or comfortable floor space
- Blanket (even though we’re doing active work, you may want covering during rest periods)
- Pillow
- Water bottle (you’ll want it after)
- Eye mask or bandana (optional—some prefer eyes covered during the journey)
- Tissue (emotional releases are common)
- Journal and pen (for post-session integration)
- An open mind and willingness to let go of control
Before the Session:
- Hydrate well throughout the day
- Eat a light meal 2-3 hours before (not on empty stomach, but not full)
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior
- Avoid cannabis or other substances
- Wear comfortable, loose clothing (sports bra or loose shirt, stretchy pants—nothing restrictive)
- Remove jewelry, watches, glasses
- Use the restroom
- Arrive 10-15 minutes early
Mental Preparation:
- Set an intention (examples: “I’m here to release what’s stuck,” “I’m ready to feel my power,” “I’m willing to see what I need to see”)
- Release expectations about what “should” happen
- Give yourself permission to make sound, move your body, or express emotions
- Trust that whatever arises is exactly what needs to arise
After the Session:
- Clear your schedule for at least 2 hours afterward (this isn’t a lunch-break activity)
- Have a light meal or snacks available
- Plan for journaling, walking in nature, or quiet reflection
- Avoid intense obligations, difficult conversations, or overstimulation
- Some people feel energized and clear; others feel emotionally tender—honor whatever you need
- Drink plenty of water to help integration
- Avoid alcohol or substances for 24 hours post-session

- Active breathwork journey with guided coaching (30 min)
- Integration breathing and rest (10 min)
- Closing circle and sharing (5 min)
Music: This journey is accompanied by carefully curated music that builds from grounding rhythms to peak activation and back down to integration. Expect tribal drums, electronic meditation tracks, and emotionally evocative soundscapes.
The Science: Active breathwork temporarily creates a state of respiratory alkalosis (increased blood pH) and alters CO2/O2 ratios in your blood. This affects your nervous system, releases suppressed emotions stored in the body, and can produce non-ordinary states of consciousness. You’re essentially giving yourself a full-system reset.
